A small, welcoming Community Interest Company running monthly meets and hands-on experiences for children and families in the Ribble Valley — home-educated, neurodivergent, or simply looking for a different kind of space.
To create welcoming, low-pressure spaces where children and families connect, build confidence and rediscover a love of learning — so every child, whatever their path, has somewhere to belong.
As a Community Interest Company in the Ribble Valley, we exist to reduce isolation, nurture curiosity and wellbeing, and provide meaningful experiences without the pressure to fit one mould.
A place where children discover "I can"
Some children find groups, activities and traditional learning environments harder to access than others.
They may have experienced overwhelm, struggled to fit in, lost confidence or simply become used to feeling that things aren't designed for them. Eventually, that can affect their willingness to try, explore, meet new people or believe in what they can do.
Bloom is about changing that experience. Our community meets give children space to explore purposeful activities, follow their interests, connect with others and try something new — without pressure to perform or conform.
We want children to leave Bloom feeling capable, curious and proud of themselves. For some, success might be completing something they didn't think they could. For another, it might be joining in, talking to someone new or simply being able to say:
"I was excited to come this time."
Those moments matter. They build the foundations for confidence, connection, belonging and a renewed love of exploration and learning.
Bloom is a place where children who may have become used to feeling "I can't" can begin to discover "I can."
The need for spaces like Bloom is growing — the way families access education, community and support is changing.

For children who have found traditional settings hard, feeling emotionally safe and accepted comes first — it's the foundation confidence, friendships and curiosity are built on. As a CIC, promoting wellbeing isn't an add-on; it's central to the community we're building.

Lots of activities, children choose
A Bloom Meet is an open, relaxed community session. The main room is set up with lots of different hands-on activities, and children move freely between them with their parents and carers alongside — choosing what to explore, for how long, and in whatever way suits them.
There's no timetable and no pressure to join in everything. Families who'd like more structure can add an optional taught small-group session during the meet.

Founded by Jade Tierney
Jade is an experienced teacher currently completing an MSc in Psychology, with a professional background spanning primary, secondary and SEN support.
The Bloom Room grew from a belief that children deserve community spaces where they can connect, explore and feel they belong — without the pressure, rigidity or expectations of a formal setting.
