Supporting children to stay included
The Bloom Room Community CIC exists to support children and families across the Ribble Valley. We want to work alongside schools to help children feel they belong — and to support families earlier, before difficulties reach crisis point.
Early support, before crisis
Many children find aspects of the school environment genuinely difficult, and families often tell us they struggled to find the right support before things reached breaking point. When that support isn't available early, some families feel they have no option but to leave the school system at a point of crisis.
We want to help change that — by supporting early inclusion, recognising children experiencing school distress, and working with schools and families so that decisions about a child's education are made calmly and by choice, not forced by crisis. We fully respect families who freely choose home education; our aim is support, never pressure.
Early inclusion
Supporting children to feel included and settled at school, before difficulties escalate.
Children experiencing school distress
Recognising the children for whom the school environment is genuinely hard, and responding early and compassionately.
Preventing avoidable crisis
Reducing avoidable, crisis-driven transitions to elective home education by offering support earlier.
Respecting choice
Fully respecting families who freely choose home education — this is about support, never pressure.
School programmes are in development
Our school-focused programmes are currently in development. They are not yet commissioned or delivered. We're sharing our aims openly and would welcome conversations with schools and local partners who share them.
